Region South includes the Agder counties and Rogaland south of Boknafjord. Statnett has major development projects in this region. We are in the process of constructing two international interconnectors to Germany and the UK. These interconnectors will provide substantially increased flow in the Southern Norway grid. This is why Statnett is upgrading the Western Corridor, which includes the lines from Sauda in the north to Feda and Kristiansand in the south, as well as the section from Solhom to Arendal.

The Stavanger area is also subject to weak security of supply, and Statnett has applied for a licence for a new interconnector from Lysebotn to Fagrafjell
