The fault occurred in the on-shore facility on the Norwegian side. At the time, flow was going from Norway towards the UK, and the fault resulted in a drop in frequency. This was handled routinely by regulating power generation.
A component in the in-shore facility needs to be replaced as a result of the fault, and the interconnector will be operated at 700MW capacity until this has been done. It is not yet confirmed when repairs will be done.
