The purpose of the conference is to present Statnett’s research and technology development agenda and to discuss opportunities for joint research and innovation projects that contribute to the development of the power system of the future.

Topics for the R&D Conference

Our agenda for innovation, research and development supports Statnett’s strategy.

Increase capacity in the existing grid and power system
Advanced methods, models, AI and technology for data-driven operation closer to operational limits, market and flexibility solutions, next-generation system protection and dynamic line ratings.

Plan and build the grid and power system faster and more efficiently
Cost-effective grid solutions on land and at sea, with a focus on environmental design, and new methods and tools for more efficient planning and construction of the grid.

Increase robustness and preparedness in operation and development
Solutions for protection of physical assets and cybersecurity against natural and intentional actions, backup solutions, condition monitoring, robotics, logistics and emergency stockpiles.
