A new main grid is an important prerequisite for making the Oslo region greener. This will include a transition from fossil fuels to electric heating of houses and office buildings, as well as electrification of the transport sector.
- When heat pumps and electric cars replaces fossil fueled heating and diesel fueled cars, it will create a need for a grid with increased capacity. It is our job to make sure this capacity is ready, says VP corporate communications and public affairs, Nina Yong Kviberg.
The new substations will also give a more energy efficient grid where less electricity is lost before it reaches the consumer.
- With the new lines we will be able to reduce the power losses with the equivalent of the power supply needed for thousands of flats, says Kviberg.
