It was National Grid, Statnett's partner in the UK, which was awarded the prize on 21.06.2022.

- We are very proud that North Sea Link has received this recognition and international award. The project is an important part of facilitating electrification and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We saw many engineering achievements in the project, says Håkon Borgen, Executive Vice President Offshore Development at Statnett.

The Edison Electric Institute says cuts in CO2 emissions of 23 million tonnes in the UK by 2030 is one of the reasons for the award. North Sea Link has been in trial operation from 1 October 2021 and will link renewable energy markets between the UK and Norway.

The award is presented annually by the Edison Electric Institute (EEI). Read the full press release from EEI.
