Høgne will be joining Elhub from a post as Director of Analytics at Atea. For ten years he ran Sherpa Consulting, a centre of expertise specialising in data platforms and data analysis. He has a degree in Political Science from the University of Oslo, and he has studied IT at DPH (now the Norwegian School of Information Technology).

“I am delighted that Sigbjørn Høgne will now take over as leader of Elhub. He has both the experience and the qualities that are vital for the next stage in the development of Elhub,” says Gunnar G. Løvås, Board Chair of Elhub and Executive Vice President Market and System Operation for Statnett. “In particular, his experience of managing the construction of large data platforms and his expertise in data-driven innovation make me confident that with Sigbjørn Høgne at the helm, Elhub will move from strength to strength.”

Elhub has now been in operation for two years, and is transitioning from a project-planning and start-up phase to the continuing development that will secure stable operations and realise opportunities and efficiency gains for both new and existing customers.

“It is impressive to see the key position that Elhub has attained in the market in such a short time,” says Sigbjørn Høgne. “The organisation’s collective expertise and ability to execute are very impressive. It will be exciting to be part of the ongoing value-creation along with other players in the market. The foundation has been laid for further automation and savings, and Elhub will be a catalyst for innovation in the industry. I am looking forward to getting to know the people of Elhub and exploring further possibilities. I am grateful for the trust that has been shown in me, and I am keen to start!”

The position as CEO of Elhub became vacant earlier this spring when Tor Bjarne Heiberg agreed to join Skagerak Energi as Executive Vice President Digitalisation and IT. “Tor Bjarne Heiberg has made a tremendous contribution during his years as Elhub CEO, and he is leaving the company well equipped to meet the tasks and challenges ahead. So I want to thank him for the excellent job he has done for Elhub and wish him every success for the future,” says Løvås.

Heiberg’s last day at Elhub will be 31 May. During the period until Høgne starts on 1 September, Eigil Gjelsvik will be the acting CEO.

Elhub develops and operates the regulated central datahub for meter values and market processes in the Norwegian power market. The company employs around 60 staff and is owned by Statnett. For more information, please visit Elhub's website.
