The challenge

By monitoring how the gas from the oil in a transformer develops, it is possible to predict and identify faults at an early stage. The solutions used today do not meet Statnett’s requirements for reliability, stability and longevity.

The goal

To develop a new, more advanced sensor with high reliability, stability and longevity, at a greatly reduced cost compared to current solutions.

The project

The project partners will be developing and testing a technology demonstrator, while also developing hardware and software for online gas monitoring. If testing is successful, it will be possible to put the new technology into production in the form of a maintenance-free, advanced gas analyser at a significantly lower cost than current gas analysers.
