Statnett co-ordinates supply and demand, and owns large sections of the main Norwegian power grid.

Production and consumption in Norway

All measurements are per hour. If you select a different measurement frequency, the average hourly value in MWh per hour will be shown. For example, when you select the measurement frequency “day”, the graph will show the average of the hours for each day.

The statistics have not been corrected for an error margin of one to two percent. They may therefore deviate slightly from the key figures you see in the table of annual production and consumption from 1974-2007.

Production is the sum of power supplied by the larger producers, plus the estimated power produced by micro- and mini-power stations. Consumption is calculated as production plus power imports, minus any exports, via Statnett's connections to the Nordic region and Europe.
