Statnett enters into a contractor agreement with Dalekovod

Today, Statnett and the Croatian company Dalekovod are signing a power line contractor agreement for the Sima-Samnanger project. The contract concerns building the power line.

Pending the final decision regarding Sima-Samnanger, Statnett has negotiated special conditions related to cancellations for parts of the contract. In spite of the project's uncertainty, Dalekovod has chosen to sign the contract. The project's cost is estimated at about NOK 180 million.

The objective of the Sima-Samnanger project is to strengthen the security of supply in the BKK area. Last winter, the grid in this area was running with reduced security of supply for more than 1300 hours.

In October, work will start on the part of the route that will be identical for both the air and sea options. This affects the first approximately 10 km in Samnanger. At the same time, preparations are underway for moving the existing 300 kV Mauranger-Samnager line between Mødalen and Samnanger.  Dalekovod has also previously built power lines for Statnett, e.g. the 103 kilometre overhead line through Setesdal.

"We have had very good experience with Dalekovod and are looking forward to more cooperation. There has been a great deal of interest and stiff competition among the qualified European companies. Dalekovod won the contract on the basis of an overall evaluation of both financial and non-financial criteria. Examples include the assessment of the plan and programme for work on health, safety and the environment," says project manager Steinar Bygdås.
