Safe air traffic in the Norwegian airspace has top priority at Statnett

Norsk Luftambulanse (the Norwegian Air Ambulance) criticizes the idea of giving the new pylons between Sima and Samnanger camouflage paint, as this will negatively impact aviation safety. Akselsen says there is no need for concern.
Everybody onboard an aircraft must be able to feel safe in the air, day and night. This is why we always comply with current regulations on marking of aviation obstacles," says vice president of communications Tor Inge Akselsen.
"The Civil Aviation Authority is in charge of controlling Norwegian air traffic, and Statnett is obliged to comply with the rules and regulations set by the Authority. We will only be initiating camouflage painting where this is safe. For safety reasons, obstacles that might pose a hazard to aircraft have to be clearly marked in accordance with current regulations. Safety is a top priority for Statnett, and we have not had any accidents involving our lines for the past 25 years," says Akselsen.
