Project directors appointed for cable projects to the UK, Netherlands and Germany

Thor Anders Nummedal has been appointed project director for the cable project to the Netherlands (NorNed 2). Rune Jomaas has been appointed project director for the cable project to the UK (NSN), and Stein Vegar Larsen has been appointed project director for the cable project to Germany (NORD.LINK).

Thor Anders Nummedal (48) has been appointed project director for the cable project to the Netherlands (NorNed 2). Thor Anders has more than 20 years of experience as project manager mainly from Statnett, but also from other companies such as Norsk Hydro and Phillips Petroleum. In Statnett, he has been in charge of a number of projects, including NSI, SAKS, Energy options in consumption and Reserve power plants.

 

Rune Jomaas (43) has been appointed project director for the cable project to the UK (NSN). Rune comes from the Ministry of Defence where he acquired broad experience in project management, leadership and strategy development. From 2002 to 2004, he served as head and education officer of the Royal Norwegian Air Force Officer Candidate School.

 

Stein Vegar Larsen (40) has been appointed project director for the cable project to Germany. Through his management of a number of international projects in companies such as Hydro, Kværner, Holte Consulting and Aker Solutions, Stein Vegar has acquired extensive knowledge of project management and project control. During the last few years, he has helped develop Nordic Green Power, a company providing advice on renewable energy production.

 

“The project directors will first and foremost be responsible for directing the projects through the various phases leading up to a potential licence application and implementation. A central element of the work will be to ensure efficient progress, and to ensure favourable technical and commercial terms for the projects in general,” says Bente Hagem, Executive Vice President and head of Statnett’s Commercial department.
