NorNed cable temporarily out of operation

The NorNed cable between Norway and the Netherlands will be temporarily out of operation due to a cable fault onshore in Eemshaven. Estimated repair time is two weeks. The cable has been disconnected since an outage occurred on Friday 6th of February.
Further investigations are currently carried out to establish the cause of the failure at Eemshaven converter station. Any new information will be published on this website as soon as it becomes available.
Repairs are currently underway, and estimated repair time is two weeks. The cable will become available to the market as soon as it is again fully operational.
The NorNed cable is the world’s longest subsea high-voltage cable. It connects the Dutch and Norwegian electricity grids and was completed in May 2008.
