Fault in Dutch power installations causes outage of NorNed
(4/16/2009)
The NorNed cable has been out of operation since Saturday 11 April due to a fire in a cable that connects the Dutch power grid to NorNed. The Dutch TSO TenneT informs that expected outage of NorNed will be several weeks.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated and TenneT is reviewing the damage and need for repair. Tennet ensures that all effort is made to complete the repair and cleaning work as quickly as possible in order to put the NorNed cable back into operation.

The NorNed cable is the world’s longest undersea high-voltage cable. It connects the Dutch and Norwegian electricity grids and was completed in May 2008.
