Statnett - NOK 151 million profit in first quarter

Statnett had a profit after tax of NOK 151 million in the first quarter of 2008, which is NOK 23 million down from the same period of 2007.
The Statnett group's total operating revenue was NOK 901 million, an increase of NOK 64 million compared with the first quarter of 2007. Operating costs totalled NOK 641 million, compared with NOK 556 million for the same period last year. The cost rise is caused mainly by increased transmission losses and wage costs.
Operating result before tax was NOK 214 million in the first quarter of 2008, compared with NOK 238 million for the same period last year. In total, Statnett invested NOK 463 million in the first quarter of 2008, compared with NOK 530 million the first quarter of 2007. Statnett’s activities in the near future will continue to be dominated by the high level of investment.
