CWE/Nordic coupling joint target launch date

On 7 of May 2010, in Bonn and in presence of the CWE-Nordic Regulators, the CWE-Nordic TSOs, Power Exchanges and EMCC committed to prepare for a simultaneous go-live (launch) of the CWE-Nordic Interim Tight Volume Coupling (ITVC) solution and the CWE Price Coupling solution, as close as possible to 7 of September 2010, the initial target launch date for the CWE region.

Statnett enters into energy options with several companies to handle power situation

Statnett has entered into energy option agreements to reduce consumption with several industrial companies for the coming winter. Under the agreement, Statnett can exercise these options to have a capacity of 600 megawatt (MW) made available, with a total energy volume of 1 100 GWh. Energy options have been purchased throughout the country, but during this purchasing round, the main focus has been on the western and central regions. The total cost of the energy options is NOK 48 million.

Statnett granted licence for new cables in the Oslofjord

The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) has granted Statnett a licence to build and operate a new 420 kV subsea cable from the new muffler station at Teigen in Vestfold to the new muffler station at Evje in Østfold.

Norwegian authorities grant Skagerrak 4 license

The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) has granted Statnett the license required in Norway to install a fourth cable between Norway and Denmark.
